templui 2.0 is a complete rewrite with one goal: being the shadcn/ui pendant for templ.

Every component is rebuilt against shadcn/ui and Base UI: same API surface, same markup, same styles, with the client behavior ported to dependency-free vanilla JavaScript.

What’s new:

• Over 50 components - the shadcn/ui set, rebuilt 1:1 for templ, with the remaining ones on the way.
• Eight visual styles - Vega, Nova, Lyra, Maia, Mira, Luma, Sera and Rhea. Pick one and the registry compiles every component for it.
• templui create - pick your style, base color, theme, fonts and icons and create your own version of templui.
• Typeset - typography for markdown you don’t control. One stylesheet, wrap your content, done.
• Charts - beautiful charts built for templ, rendered on canvas by a faithful port of the reference behavior.
• A new CLI - init with project templates and presets, add, apply, and a registry that delivers each component compiled for your chosen style.

2.0 is a new major with a new API across the board. The v1 docs stay at templui.io until 2.0 is stable.

• hovercard: Added a Hover Card component that shows rich content on hover, built as a thin wrapper around Popover with hover defaults (150ms open / 300ms close)
• popover: Hover-based popovers (Tooltip, Hover Card) now also open on keyboard focus and close on blur for accessibility

Changed

• tooltip: Default open/close delay is now instant (0ms) to match shadcn; the tooltip showcases no longer hardcode a 500ms delay

Fixed

• dialog: Initialize dialogs added to the DOM after load (e.g. via HTMX swaps) so their triggers work without a full page reload (#557)
• popover: An explicit hover delay of 0 is now respected as instant instead of falling back to 100ms, so instant tooltips/popovers are configurable

Fixed

• popover: Made the exclusive close behavior skip ancestor popovers so a popover-based component (SelectBox, Dropdown) nested inside another popover no longer closes its parent when opened; the public closeAll / window.tui.popover.closeAll API keeps its close-everything semantics (#555, thanks @derkan)

Fixed

• dialog, sheet: Removed the inner data-tui-dialog-panel wrapper whose grid layout broke Sheet’s flex height chain, causing mobile sidebar content to not scroll and footers with mt-auto to not stick to the bottom; layout (flex-col, gap-4, p-6) now sits directly on the native <dialog> (#553, thanks @hainguyen27798)
